Bloomberg needs to finance an Anti-NRA Association call it ANRAA, we could have our own magazine, pay dues and lobbyists, etc. We would vastly outnumber the NRA and drive them into the ground!

um, no he is not, he didn’t whistle blow anything, and things are unconstitutional only when the scotus says so, until then it is law passed by congress. deal in facts, not opinion.

Israel has armed guards everywhere. They frisk cinema goers as well as airport travelers. But everyone in the country has or is in the military (active or reserve). And they don’t use concealed weapons. At first I felt uncomfortable about that but after years there it became a fact of life. The UK hasn’t even armed police (exception being their armed squads called out only when necessary). Consequently there is a general feeling that the country is peaceful. This even though they’ve had the IRA (rhymes with NRA) and Islamic terrorists in their midsts. Thanks for the live streams. i love msnbc and chuck todd.

So Bohener’s “Plan B” gets rejected by his own party without a vote. One Republican explained with indignation that there was no way conservatives could consider it because it “violated their principals.” What are these “principals?” Apparently they feel that working toward a compromise for the good of the country is some kind of moral weakness. Come on guys; the election is over.

Pres. Reagan and Jim Brady got shot in 1981. The Brady Bill was voted into Law in 1993.
I took 12 years to get a watered-down background check through the U.S. Congress.
It was block on every turn by the Republicans, not people supporting Quentin Tarantino movies.
I understand and support your point Tony; however it is being made in the wrong conversation.
I hope you start a voice for parental guidance on this blog. You will have my support. Parental responsibly is probably more important to our freedoms then trying to legislate child guidance. But as a nation we need to hit hard at our sold-out Politicians.
Getting our Politicians to hear the needs of the masses instead of the uber-wealthy is what you and I need today.

Even better…start labeling, shaming and BOYCOTTING psychotic film-makers like Quentin Tarantino who inundate fifteen year old boys with “violence is the answer”…”violence is the answer”…”violence is the answer”…”violence is the answer”…”violence is the answer”…

Movies are labeled (Rated “R” for example) and should be boycotted from fifteen year old boys by the boys parents. Some people see things and say “that is tragic”, some people see the same thing and say “what a great way to do it”. The problem is not whether you see it one way or the other, the problem is when you are unable to see that it can be viewed either way, and are either unable, or choose not to think and teach others to do so.

    Predictability?

When we allow our Representatives to become prostitutes,
We are no- longer allowed to be surprised at murders in theaters or children being slaughtered in their school chairs.
We cannot be allowed to be surprised at unfed children or unemployed people, in our country, when it is so much more profitable to ship jobs elsewhere.
It becomes our fault when ex-Presidents (W.) give speeches in the Caymans’ on the easiest way to avoid paying taxes on their earnings’.
We all know the rest on my rant – don’t we?

We need to look to history; We need to convert as many Republicans as possible; If not to the Democrats’ point, then at least to an Independent view.
Unfortunately Jim, people are predictive and easily manipulated.

  10. 19/12/2012 at 05:05

The human being is not predictive.
Any one of us can snap at any time,
including the most sane among us.

But guns ARE predictive. We can
predict what a loaded one will do,
even if it doesn’t kill and only if
it just blinds someone or paralyzes
an individual for life or shoots off
    a few fingers.

We need to drive the message to the
top of the reasons for establishing
    stringent gun controls: Humans are
    not predictive; guns are.

    • Human Anomoly
      20/12/2012 at 17:42

Guns can be shot safely, or violently. Cars can be driven safely, or violently. Swimming pools can be fun, but people also drown in swimming pools, some of them children. Whether the gun is semi automatic, with a clip, or a revolver, it still shoots the same bullets and can even be shot with the same rate of fire as well as reloaded. Look up world record revolver rate of fire and be amazed. It was the action of an individual at Sandy Hook that was tragic, not the method. Would it have been preferable if fewer children were killed with a knife? It is not as if the mother of the killer did not know her sons reactions and tendencies. His decision to turn to violence was his decision alone. What was he reacting to is unknown, yet it would seem that the people around him refused to acknowledge the potential or deal with the problem. People do not like to admit weakness, lack of skill, or failings. Being hypocritical is the problem, screaming how the speeder in the car should be punished, then you speed in your car the next day, justifying your speeding to yourself in some way. 18/12/2012 at 20:40

It has been my observation that people who have had a history of these violent crimes, also have a long history of playing video games with weaponry and violent content. Perhaps parents should remove all violent video games from their homes.I truly believe this would have a greater impact than focusing on the NRA. I do not endorse the NRA. I simply see a pattern of familiar history when these shootings occur. thanks for the msnbc live stream.

        19/12/2012 at 13:34

Agreed. Video games are harmless at first, but if you have a mind that applies it like normal stuff or reality and/or you have mental problems, they really do a bad thing. I think.

I wish to suggest to Pesident Obama and the Gvernor of Connecticus that the first step in the short and long time healing process is to relocate the elementary school to a temperary location untill a completely new school is built. These surviving children and their teachers should not be allowed to relive this horror. The sandy hook school will become a memmorial to all the victims of this tragidy and serve as a reminder to this despicable act

    • esther ahonen
      19/12/2012 at 05:11

I absolutely agree, I have been thinking the same thing. The school where the children were killed should be torn down and a memorial built there to honor the children. A Peace Center for Children. Conneticut has very rich people and they could well afford to finance this easily… Hollywood actors I am talking to you, time to put your money where your mouth is!

        12/06/2013 at 16:54

I totally agree, Joe acts like a bully especially toward the female on the show, I seen one of the shows when joe and her were not there
It was a good show, guests were not being cut off and the conversation flowed which allowed each one to make an input. He always comes off as
a know it all. A typical of a republican. I just hope he never tries to get reelected, they threw you out for a reason which still eludes him…

  14. Johannah Casey-Doecke
    17/12/2012 at 01:30

There were two forces at work in Sandy Hook that should have been recognized and controlled by the parents of Adam Lanza.

First, Adam’s parents failed to identify, treat and control the behavior of their emotionally disturbed son.
Second, Adam’s mother embraced gun ownership without accepting the responsibility to secure those weapons from her son, who she knew was not emotionally stable enough to have access to a firearm.

In the case of Stony Hook Elementary School we have again endured the unthinkable due to an irresponsible parent, perhaps parents, who knew their child was emotionally disturbed, yet encouraged that child to master the use of firearms. To compound their fault, she also gave open access to her guns and amunition.

Parents with emotionally disturbed children have a sacred responsibility to their community to keep weapons secured and to seek mental health treatment for their child as soon as it is recognized. Adam’s illness was noted by his teachers when he was a student at Sandy Hook.

As the citizens of an armed camp with 300 Million weapons, we have the responsibility to enact laws that require gun locks and gun safes for guns, rifles, ammunition and other instruments of death. Yes, we all have the Right to Bear Arms but we also have a duty to fully secure those arms for the good and safety of our citizens.

    • 19/12/2012 at 05:09

      So the bottom line is:
      Humans are not predictive.
      Guns ARE.

So doesn’t that tell you we have one and
only one starting place: Gun Controls?

      Of course it does.

      • 20/12/2012 at 16:44

Agreed that gun control is the only “starting place.” We want to keep guns out of the hands of crazy people, but that’s a lot harder to do than simply banning the most dangerous weapons. What reason is there for allowing semi-automatics that can fire 30 rounds without reloading to be out there in general circulation? We’ve seen the consequences of this bad policy play out too often.

    • aquart
      20/12/2012 at 03:36

Parents all over America beg for help with disturbed children but mental health care is the orphan stepchild of a barely functional healthcare system as it is. Private healthcare only for the well to do and public healthcare only for the very poor or very old leaves deadly gaps. Also, people are constantly forced to change plans and thus doctors as jobs change. Which means no one is consistently tracking changes in condition and behavior.

But keep blaming the parents whose fault is LIVING IN THE UNITED STATES.

we will never take away your gun. However, gun ownership means responsibility and if you can not live in a responsible law abiding way then the firearm will be taken from you. Rather restrict some half cocked red necked confederate numskull than see 20 beutiful children massacred. It is only an opinion, please don’t shoot me.

Enforced a assault gun and rifle law in enforced , must have a gun for protection,1 handgun per household, must be registered and licensed. Licensed comes with education class, get caught without, fined and perhaps jail time. Come on we got seatbelt laws and smoking laws enforced, it is time to qet it together

      • Retired law enforcement
        15/12/2012 at 16:49

All guns were legal which means there was paperwork. Mall shooter stole weapon, theater shooter stole weapon. I assume you aren’t a gun owner.

An Australian shot 35 people in 1996. It so outraged
Australians, who said, “We don’t need the American
disease to reach Australia,” that the MATURE Aussies
          immediately passed legislation addressing reasonable
          gun control legislation.

Number of mass murders in Australia since 1996: 0
Number of paranoid Australians jailed by the government who “took their weapons away”: 0
Date Australian government seized all weapons: Hasn’t happened
Number of Aussies jailed because they owned weapons: 0
Number of Aussies fleeing Australia because government is taking over all rights: 0

          You get the idea…..

    • oprman
      15/12/2012 at 01:21

Why should we stop talking about gun control? Mental illness is apparently a lot easier to hide than a weapon. And how, in your world, could this madman have killed so many children without glocks and ak47′s? It’s time for Obama to step up to the plate and stop this insanity. Your “toys” aren’t worth one single life more.

    • 15/12/2012 at 13:45

I am a gun owner, and former member of the NRA, and we must talk about gun control, because responsible gun owners know we need smart, common sense laws that get rid of guns like the Bushwacker, AK47, etc., for the public, large ammunition clips, Gun Show parking lots purchases where you can legally buy for cash, guns and ammo with no background checks, or paper trails!!!
We as gun owners must get involved, pass responsible gun laws, get rid of these people killers from our streets, or we can take the current all or nothing approach the current heads of the NRA take and say no to all responsible change, and sit back and wait for non gun owners to get rid of these current laws, cause change is coming! You either get involved and do the right thing, or accept the backlash later!

    • 16/12/2012 at 03:20

Ha Ha Ha! You’re kidding, right? I mean the Morning Joe commercial is already the loudest, most obnoxious thing on the MSNBC stream — way louder than the programs. Sounds like an office full of ringing telephones and distorted guitars amidst and avalanche of garbage. I always hit the mute button. Thank god legislation just took effect that prohibits TV ads from being so much louder than the programming they accompany.

      12/12/2012 at 02:48

I LOVE MSNBC, but I’d also LOVE to see NBC streaming so I could catch the Today show!

    • 19/12/2012 at 05:19

Visit those specific sites, just as you have this one.
Some offer live streaming, some don’t. You can also get
a $39 WiFi device from Netgear and others that transmits
100 — 300 channels to your television. One of those
channels is HuLu, which streams certain channels. It’s
moving very fast and hard to stay up. $39 is a cheap
investment (Sony has one for $69 in case you own a Sony
TV and other TV makers offer their own WiFi transmitter).
      Hope this helps.

I watch MSNBC all the time and your facts are on time. This morning however, a mistake was made on MSNBC Live when the host said Tim Scott would be the first African American to serve in congress in over 100 years. Jim Clyburn is in congress now..and he is in a position of power, third in line and a democrat… Another thing, Tim Scott will get the tea party support, but not the black vote in S.C.

The volume and repetition is an assault. I thought this kind of nuisance went out with 50′s tv. I love the way that you occasionally cut to another stream to blot it out. I’ve been looking for a place at MSNBC to complain but without luck so far. It’s hard, I guess to complain when you are getting a free stream but I’d settle for car commercials if they would keep the volume and repetition to a reasonable level

I’M HOOKED. I watch MSNBC 24/7. I know I really need to get a life. I really don’t know how I would have made it through the Presidential Election if it were not for the sanity of MSNBC. THANK YOU ROCKINROOSTER FOR THIS STREAM.

I really appreciate having MSNBC on my computer. Finding this site has been the best early
Christmass present I could ask for.

This venue to be well informed about current political realities in this country must go on. I wish I could contribute, but I can barely put food on the table. Hope better times will come. I’m glad Obama won the election. Regardless of some promise as a successful businessman, Romney does not have the kind of heart needed to lead a diverse nation. Keep up this good work.

Yes, I would like to say Thank You! to Rockinroosters. This is absolutely great. Not only can I watch MSNBC, but there is a wonderful chat to talk to people and comment on the MSNBC meta-commericals :)

I have basic cable, but can’t afford to get good news too. We don’t watch standard tv at home. Your service I have been following for years now, I can’t emphasize my appreciation. Thank you so much for your fine work, this station keeps me abreast of current political events in our country. God Bless!

Thanks much, RockinRoosters. I’m in the UK and your stream is the only way I can get good coverage of U.S. politics.
