Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o says he briefly lied to the media and the public after discovering his online girlfriend did not exist and was a part of an elaborate hoax. Te’o made the admission in an exclusive interview with ABC News’ Katie Couric, taped on Tuesday and scheduled to air on Thursday.
Te’o said he was not lying up until December. He said he was duped into believing his online girlfriend died of cancer.
