So… this happened.
Throughout a Swedish TV4 news broadcast on Russian involvement in the ongoing Syrian civil war, hardcore porn played on a monitor behind the anchor for the entire 10 minutes of the report.
“At first I realized I was looking at a naked woman and it quickly became clear she was having sex,” Swedish student Danyal Ek told The Local.
“It didn’t take long before I realized it was a porn film,” he added. “The image wasn’t exactly in focus, but it wasn’t hard to figure out what was going on.”
Yeah. It really isn’t.
Ek offered up two possible theories for why the porno flick played: “One is that someone was pissed off after getting fired and put the porno up as act of revenge. My other thought was that someone had simply screwed up.”
But TV4′s official response stated that it was simply a feed mix-up. The network’s parent company also happens to operate several adult film channels.
The channel’s news editor Andreas Haglind had a rather blunt response: “It’s not like we were directly broadcasting porn. Put simply, it’s crap that it happened. We’re going to do everything we can so that it doesn’t happen again.”
